We had a lovely sunny afternoon for our shoot, and the most beautiful location. I just love the connection between the girls and their parents in these images. You can tell they…

  • MarshaMarch 18, 2012 - 1:48 am

These are awesome! Not sure if you co-ordinate with your clients on what to wear, but the colours are always just perfect in their wardrobe selections!! Beautiful family!

It’s that jolly time of year, and i’m feeling a little festive! Maybe it’s because I’ve been listening to the Hi- 5 Christmas Album whenever i’m in the car? Maybe it’s driving past the Christmas lights at night time? Maybe it’s just because the idea of spending time with my family at Christmas makes me…

Entering this competition and having the opportunity to capture the man of my dreams with my two young boys, from a recent divorce, would be bliss! A photo says a thousand words and your work is stunning! Thanks for the opportunity πŸ™‚

  • Ingrid JohnsonDecember 10, 2011 - 9:26 am

  • Elspeth MorrisDecember 10, 2011 - 9:39 am

I have four fantastic kids who are growing up way too fast. We keep putting off family photos as we have found it hard to find someone who takes very relaxed and natural shots. I friend recommended I look at your work, and I have so far been amazed and impressed at how beautifully you capture the spontaneous essence of joy and beauty in your pics. I would love the opportunity to win a “sitting” of my family that captures them at their natural and playful best.

  • Tracey FinauDecember 10, 2011 - 4:26 pm

Hi Jennifer, my name is Tracey and I am from Bathurst. I would love to win a session with you not only because your photos are stunning, but I have 3 kids under 3 and do not have much time to capture anything. Also I never seem to be in any photos with my children. It always seems to be me behind the camera. I don’t want to regret not having any photos with my beautiful family. Thanks for the opportunity to win a session….a very generous prize. Merry Christmas!

  • Kylie GibsonDecember 10, 2011 - 11:00 pm

My three children and I would love to have an excuse to visit Bathurst and our rellies that live there – we live at Bega. My sister has had family potraits done by you and they are brilliant! I have some of these displayed in my home rather than the generic/boring ones my kids and I had done a few years ago. Your photos are so artfully done that it does not matter that my children are not the subject matter πŸ™‚ This is a great prize for a competition, it’s a memento people will cherish forever. Merry Christmas

  • HayleyDecember 11, 2011 - 5:41 am

What a fantastic prize Jen…and so generous too! Good luck to all!

  • ChristineDecember 11, 2011 - 7:19 am

Well how I could I NOT enter this fabulous giveaway!?? πŸ™‚ I’d love to get a shoot in with you sometime in 2012… do I have to answer why? It’s so obvious!! πŸ™‚ Either way, whoever wins is a lucky duck! Hope you guys have a fabulous xmas!! πŸ™‚ xoxoxo

  • NardiDecember 11, 2011 - 7:36 am

I would love the chance to win as in pregnant with our fist born & due Christmas day, my partner & I would love the oputunity to have beautiful photos taken of our new bub but as it’s around Christmas time then our wedding day in march we just can’t find the money to possibly capture such a special moment of life.

  • DamoDecember 11, 2011 - 7:58 am

I would love to have a family photo for so many reasons. Where do I start? Firstly we almost lost my mum in a car accident a little whiole ago. She’s bounced a little worse for wear but stronger, more positive & with a brighter view on life. The planet is lucky to still have her. Secondly my 13 weeks old daughter has the most beautiful smile, the strongest cry & the cutest bobble head. My wife & I are so lucky to have her. And thirdly my wife is beautiful kind & detirmined. I’m lucky to have her. Now if only I had a picture to capture these thousand words…..

  • DaniDecember 11, 2011 - 8:01 am

Hi Jennifer ,my name is Logan i am 17 years old and I am a young mother of my son Cooper who Is 7months old..the reason I would love to win this competion is not for myself but for my mother,I want to make one of my mothers wishes come true. she has always wanted a family portrait..but being a single mum to my other brother and sister and also now a grandma mums money is sometimes short and most of her time spent at work..she Is a very hard worker and always makes sure us kids have everything and she never puts her self first.. i would love to be able to give her something she will cherish for her lifetime and pay her back for all the support and help she has provided me threw the choices I have made .. merry Christmas to you and your family πŸ™‚

  • KendalDecember 12, 2011 - 7:53 am

Your sessions tell stories Jen!! They are beautiful and tell the story of the family. Ive had a couple of sessions with you and I am always so chuffed to look back on them and remind myself of where my family has been and where we have come to. They are such beautiful memories of how special all families are!! I would love another story taken of my family’s journey. xx

  • Ann CameronDecember 12, 2011 - 8:53 am

This is a wonderful gift to give someone. I would like to win so that I can extend the joy of giving and give it to my daughter so she can have beautiful memories of her children growing up. My children grew up in the blink of an eye and I didn’t have many photos that I can look back on and say “these are special”.

  • AliceDecember 12, 2011 - 5:19 pm

Anyone can take a photo! But you take a picture that is creative fun, full of love and special memories, that are admired by everyone that looks at the session. Such a talent and obviously why My family would love to win another photo day with you Jen x

  • AliceDecember 12, 2011 - 5:22 pm

Whoops above should say…to win a photo day! We havent won before lol.

  • Ingrid MaackDecember 12, 2011 - 6:17 pm

Dear Jennifer, I’m a former Bathurstian, and with rellies still in town, regularly trek over the Mountains. I am also an enormous fan of your work. 2011 has been a tough year for my husband, three-year-old son Archie and I, having miscarried but we finally have a new arrival joining us in May 2012.
No-one is more excited about becoming a big brother than Archie, who having recently watched SBS doco ‘One born every minute’ with me, announced he wanted to be my birth partner and “help the baby come out”!!! (Can you imagine.)
A pregnancy package celebrating this special time would mean so much to me and Archie. It is also Archie’s great grandfather’s 80th birthday next year so some B&W Jennifer Stocks portraits would make a gorgeous gift.

Many thanks and keep up the good work,
    Ingrid x

Oh my how much I would love to win this session Jen! I love your style and would love someone to capture my family with me in the photos too! Your style is just so free and natural and fun and what I wouldn’t do to have my family captured by you!

  • AnsiaDecember 12, 2011 - 11:27 pm

Jennifer, your photos of me and my little ones are some of my most treasured possessions! Now I have a new man in my life and a little baby in my belly and we would love to have some updated photos of this little family.

  • Kim SelbyDecember 13, 2011 - 12:10 am

I would love, love, love to win this competition. As a mum to two boys, living in a very similar area to you (only in Victoria) I couldn’t think of someone who would identify and ‘get’ me and our little family more. xx

  • SonyaDecember 13, 2011 - 5:35 am

    Hi Jen

  • MarshaDecember 13, 2011 - 8:17 pm

Of course you know by now its no secret I adore your work, the way you capture life, peoples personalities, connections between families, people in love, families in love, bonds between siblings, the spirit of childhood and even your own family captivate me and inspire me greatly. Your work wins awards because it deserves to win, its brilliant and instantly recognisable which is what sets you apart. To experience a session with you would be a dream, to have a piece of your vision and artistic talent hanging in our home would be an honour. What a very generous and wonderful gift you are going to give to a lucky family. I can only hope its ours!! We’re in Sydney, but would drive over the mountain in a heartbeat πŸ˜‰

  • Trudy WeekesDecember 14, 2011 - 1:06 am

I just love looking at your blog to see who has been photographed lately. You have photographed so many people we know and I have been going to get our family pics done for awhile so I have now asked everyone for money this Christmas to get our little family’s photos taken. So looking forward to it!

  • Mel & HayleyDecember 14, 2011 - 2:19 am

I would LOVE so much to win a photo session with you for my twin nieces, who will be turning one this friday! You are no doubt the best family photographer in Australia and I would love so much for you to photograph my nieces. It would be a truly wonderful gift for me to give my neices as a birthday present and something we would always remember. Turing one is the big milestone and I would like you to capture this time for us!

  • TheresaDecember 14, 2011 - 10:08 pm

Hi Jen, I have a new pass time in those early morning feeds with my littlest man, surfing through your blogs and archives enjoying other people’s babies and families. I look forward to the day that I see my boys in your photos and share the fun in their life with all the world. Wouldn’t it be so special to have mum and dad in the same photo too! Have a lovely Christmas with your family.

Arrives. Your photos are absolutely stunning!

  • Melissa SayersDecember 16, 2011 - 12:07 am

Jen, who wouldn’t want a session with you. No one else captures the moment like you do. In a year time or even two years, I want to be able to look back and remember the moment not just what my family looked like.

  • TracyDecember 17, 2011 - 12:37 am

I love your work Jen! You have photographed many of my friends families and even a beautiful wedding. I would love to have you photograph my family and have the memories to keep forever.

  • JodieDecember 17, 2011 - 3:18 pm

I love how you are so clever Jen! The photos you took of Evie were amazing! We have just been waiting for Busters personality to calm down so you can catch him! And our whole family! Xx we would love to win this special prize.

  • KristieDecember 18, 2011 - 12:03 am

Our prints hang on our walls from the last time you photographed our family. Being such a busy mum (as we all are) having these photos to looks at all around my home puts a big smile on my face everyday. My babies are now growing up (2.5) and (4) and I would love to have some more photos taken! Your work is amazing! Xx

  • Renee TaylorDecember 18, 2011 - 12:36 am

We live in Newcastle, but i grew up in Bathurst. I have a nearly 1 yr old princess and would love to get a family session to remember these precious yrs (which go way too fast!). Your work is just divine and we would love to be a special part of it! Will keep my fingers crossed πŸ™‚

  • Heidi HopeDecember 18, 2011 - 10:42 pm

I’d love to have a photo of my hubby, kids and I….We just dont have one.

  • Bec BennettDecember 18, 2011 - 10:51 pm

    Jen! What an awesome prize!

I know this is very cheeky but you’re the best. And we don’t have ONE photo of us all together, isn’t that INSANE?!?! I would love to just have one decent photo of us all together to hang in our new house x

Plus, you are the newborn queen, and I want to try and book you anyway. I’m due March 30 but having a c-sect 2 weeks before.

So! Please take this as my official entry!

  • Lee-AnnDecember 18, 2011 - 10:53 pm

Would love for you to photograph my twins and I as they are growing and changing so very rapidly and I have not got a nice pic of all 3 of us together that doesn’t involve the hospital πŸ™‚ Have a fantastic Christmas

  • LouiseDecember 18, 2011 - 11:07 pm

Jen your work is simply amazing and I would adore you to capture my own family and hang it proudly in my home. Considering I almost broke my ankle trying to capture a image of the five of us with the camera timer not so long ago I would adore someone as lovely and talented as you to capture my own gorgeous family.

  • Michelle CoadyDecember 18, 2011 - 11:48 pm

I’d love to have a session with you because you seem to be able to capture photographs that show joy, love, laughter, happiness. Your photos jump out at the looker and tell a story – that is true talent. Additionally it has been since my wedding in 2006 that my husband and I have had photos taken together, add to the mix my 4yr old daughter and 10 week old son and we have never had a family photograph taken. The only photo we have of us as a family is the one taken for our local paper. So it’s probably about time we had some photos taken!! Lol

  • FionaDecember 19, 2011 - 1:39 am

Jen, I love that your love of family echoes through every session I stalk! Your style is smoking hot and so are you!

  • Jenny BakerDecember 19, 2011 - 2:48 am

A picture can tell a thousand stories – a lifetime of love, moments of sadness, happiness, fulfilment and overwhelming joy, so many emotions can be captured in a fleeting second as the photographer pauses, and waits for the just the right moment.
Jen, you seem to find that “moment” with every photo in every session .. our family would love to have a session with you.

  • GlenDecember 19, 2011 - 5:16 am

What better gift to give my wife than a family portrait session with someone who she thinks of as a mentor (well she’d like to take shots like you do Jen) My wife has given me the best present I could ever hope for-three bouncy boys and this xmas surprise would make her heart sing. Unfortunately I am not gifted with a camera so any shots I take of my wife with the boys are very ordinary and disappointing (O.K. I’m man enough to say it!) My fingers are crossed πŸ™‚ Glen Newcastle

  • NatalieDecember 19, 2011 - 5:37 am

A photo session with you would be a dream come true. After heartache and tragedy, life is finally looking up. I’d love a photo session to capture the “new” family that my fiance and I have created…my 2 kiddies who lost their Daddy a few years fiance’s 2 gorgeous little girls…AND the new little miracle baby that we are expectiing in February!! I just know that you will help us to capture the joy that comes with the achievement of having such an amazing and unique little family unit…

  • MelDecember 19, 2011 - 6:37 am

    Hi Jen!
I’m in little old Maryborough, 3 hours North of Brisbane but would happily drive to Brisvegas for a session with you!

    OK – I’ll start first!!!

    a) What do you love about Christmas?

Driving around ooking at Christmas lights on Christmas Eve while the kids go “Wow” and “Ooohh” (mostly for our listening pleasure), watching ‘Love Actually’ with my husband on Christmas Eve while wrapping presents, seeing happy smiles on my kids faces, assembling & unwrapping toys with the boys, eating lots of fun food and seeing my lovely family of course!

    b) If you could have your photograph taken with any famous person who would it be?

    John Lennon.

    c) What is your all-time most treasured photograph?

I love old pictures of my mum and dad in their swimming cozzies with their old purple Holden Gemini. I also have some treasured photographs of my boys with their daddy – mostly real life-type photos.

    d) If you could give one gift to anyone in the world, what would it be, and to whom would you give it?

As cliched as it sounds, I would love to find a cure for cancer and give it to the world (yeah, I know that is more than 1 gift to more than 1 person). Cancer is crap and too many good people are affected by it.

    e) What do you like most about my photography?

I think I will leave that one out since I would be talking about myself!!

    f) List your town & state

    Bathurst, NSW of course!

  • Katie McKayDecember 16, 2009 - 9:35 pm

I know I can’t win it but, I’d like to play anyway :o)

a.)The look on my kiddies faces when they wake up and realise that it’s christmas day after waiting for so long for christmas to finally arrive.

b.)I’d have my photograph taken with Bigfoot, to find out if he’s real and to make a motza out of selling the pic!

c.) It’s (of course) a pic of Jens from before she went ‘Pro’ of me and my eldest on the farm when he was a teensy tiny baby. Love It!!

d.) I’d love to give my parents a well deserved holiday to the destination of their choice for as long as they liked, with unlimited spending money.

e.)You are a story-teller, your pics are “real” and tell such a wonderful story about those you photograph.

    f.) Gladstone – QLD

  • Natalie BiceDecember 16, 2009 - 9:35 pm

    YAY me first…lol.

    1) my boys…it is all about them.
2)Right now it would be Katie Noonan, Her music is beyond this world. So uplifting, so full of emotion you close you eyes and listen and just drift away to another place.

What a lovely idea this is for you to be doing this! Right so firstly what do I love about Christmas well that would have to be being able to see the pure joy and wonder in my childrens faces as they open all the presents, see that Santa has visited, the excitement in the lead up to Christmas and the innocence that they still have!If I could have my photo taken with anyone famous it would be Marilyn Monroe to reinstate that women with curves are beautiful and sexy!My all time most treasured photo well I hope this doesnt sound too strange but it truly would have to be the only photo I have of my first baby Joshua who I lost at six months during my pregnancy. The hospital took a photo of him and it looks as though he is sleeping, although I donot publicly display this photo I treasure it as its the only thing I will ever have of him. I also have treasured photos of my two darling Children Isaac and Phoebe with smiles as big as the ocean and this is what I love to look at often as its a constant reminder of how blessed I am to now have two healthy and happy children. If I could give one gift to anyone in the world it would to give back innocence to children who have been abused. What do I like most about Jennifer Stocks Photography is the way it brings a photo to life. You capture the moment not just the person that is in the photo when I look at your photos I feel like I am watching the event or situation in real life a truly amazing gift! xxx Gladstone QLD xxx

Hey Jen! This sounds like fun – I love all things Christmas πŸ™‚

    1) Post a comment on my blog (just under this post) ensuring you leave your email address and name in the designated areas.

    2) Answer these simple questions:

    a) What do you love about Christmas? My biggest boy and the Father Christmas thing. It’s pure magic and my Harry has had SUCH an amazing time already this year, using his imagination, thinking of magical, wonderful things to do with Father Christmas, and just being excited in general. Tonight I’m playing Elf and picking up his laybys and I am buzzing. But on the other side of the coin, we’ve ensured he understands about giving and he was so sweet, we picked a present for a boy the same age as him to put under the Kmart wishing tree and he was great about it and learned a really valuable lesson.

    b) If you could have your photograph taken with any famous person who would it be? Gordon Ramsay, because he has more wrinkles than me and I’d look young and fabulous compared to him!

    c) What is your all-time most treasured photograph? It’s a tie between one of me holding William, he’s about 3 minutes old. I’m the Cheshire Cat – BEAMING from ear to ear; and the other is a pic of my hubby Chris and our Harry, with Chris looking so proud and Harry looking so cute – we didn’t have William at that stage and they just looked so beautiful, my two boys at the time.

    d) If you could give one gift to anyone in the world, what would it be, and to whom would you give it? I’m hoping to give it to them soon – I’ve offered a free session and CD of images to a family with a little boy who is the same age as my own baby boy (7 months). I found out yesterday he’s got cancer and was diagnosed at 2 months and I’m hoping to give them some Christmas Spirit as the family is apparently pretty down. I emailed them last night and hope to do the session next week, if they want it.

    e) What do you like most about my photography? Making people smile, and making people remember.

    f) List your town & state. Nairne, South Australia.

  • Karen PfeifferDecember 17, 2009 - 2:33 am

OOps, it’s supposed to say “you making people smile and making people remember”. I hope that made sense!

  • daniDecember 17, 2009 - 6:19 am

    a) What do you love about Christmas?
Where do I start! I love watching the kids faces, I love seeing my family, I have 5 sisters and we always have a fantastic day catching up with each other. Each year gets more and more fun as we expand our families and the kids have a ball together.

    b) If you could have your photograph taken with any famous person who would it be?
I don’t really “treasure” famous people, and if I could have my photograph with anyone it would be my boys (my own family!) which I always neglect to do.

    c) What is your all-time most treasured photograph?
I have a photograph with my great-grandfather when I was 2. We are holding a lamb together, and it was used on the front page of the “West Australian” newspaper. It is my most treasured photo at the moment as my great grandfather was an amazing influence and figure in my life.

    d) If you could give one gift to anyone in the world, what would it be, and to whom would you give it?
I would give eternal health to my neice Jordana who was born with VATER syndrome and has endured so much in her 4 years of life.

    e) What do you like most about my photography?
I love your beautiful style and your crisp images.

    f) List your town & state

What do I love about Christmas….H A M !! I’d have to say hands down that’s my favourite thing.

Someone famous?? Well, I hate having my photo taken, so it would have to be someone REALLY good….maybe Judy Garland if she were still alive.

My all time most treasured photograph, I don’t think I have that yet, I have faves, but I haven’t one that is treasured. Its still on the way I think…

If I was the all being powerful gift giver…I would give children to those who can’t have them. I don’t have that problem myself, but I have always had a little sadness in my heart for those who do.

Your photography is “true to life” its not overly colourful and overstated, its not in your face, its nice, clean, family and comfortable I think.

    Rathmines (Near Newcastle) NSW.

  • Natasha MillerDecember 17, 2009 - 7:01 pm

Hey Jen. Great idea! Sounds fun!
a)What do you love about Christmas? I love being surrounded by family on Christmas. Opening gifts together, laughing, enjoying a few drinks and just being together without having to worry about leaving early to go to bed because of work the next day or hurrying out the door because there’s so much to do today. This year will be extra special because i now have my son Charlie. I’m so excited about his first Christmas and seeing him open and play with his new toys! I think this will be my favourite christmas ever! b)If you could have your photograph taken with any famous person who would it be? JOHNNY DEPP πŸ™‚ c)what is your all time treasured photograph? In Jan 2007 my pop had a stroke which left him bedriden and often confused. Seeing him like this was heartbreaking for our family because it wasn’t what he would have wanted and seeing him slowly fade away was too painful. My pop loved the bush! He was most happiest camping in the bush, putting ferrets in a rabbit hole and enjoying a VB. Whenever i think of him now it’s hard to shake the images of him in hospital laying in bed sick until i look at my favourite photo. His standing by his ute, in his bush clothes, skinning a pile of freshly caught rabbits with a VB next to him. That’s the man he was and that’s the man i want to remember. I’m so glad i have that photo! d) If you could give one gift to anyone in the world what would it be and to whom would you give it? I would give a neglected/abused child a loving home! It breaks my heart to read stories about children being abused, neglected and murdered by they’re parents/family. I’d love to just save one child and show them what it feels like to be loved and not live in fear and pain. e) what do you love most about my photography? 2 Things. I love how you capture a little bit of childhood in your photos. For example your session with the little girl having a tea party in her garden. I love that you took a photo that she’ll be able to look back on and see herself as a small child doing something she enjoyed when she was a younger and be able to reminisce on her childhood. I also love how you capture a child’s eye colour especially with your close ups. My son has these gorgeous big blue eyes but i can never capture that in a photo but you do and i think its gorgeous! You’re photos are also so bright and colourful and joyous! Bathurst NSW. Have a merry christmas Jen!!! Hope the boys spoil you and santa is generous to Dusty and Beau! xx
