Ruby Ruby

The other day I met a little dreamer – Miss Ruby was her name. She was so full of curiosity for life, smiles and general all-round cuteness. When you meet her mum, you can see where a whole bunch of Ruby’s wonderful characteristics come from, and I can see why Ruby is so at ease with the world. I think this little girl is going to be a real go-getter as she gets older, and will keep her mum and dads on their toes!

Once again, we took advantage of the park, which is still littered with beautiful autumn coloured leaves and some beautiful little nooks and crannies.  Ruby really worked it from time to time, and I got some beautiful photographs of her.

Ruby and Anna, it was fantastic to meet you both. I hope Ruby had a good sleep after our session, and that you enjoy your preview. I will be in touch with your gallery soon!

Little Lara

I met with Lara and her parents in the park this week. We were trying to salvage what was left of Autumn, and thankfully there was still a nice amount of colour around. Oh, and little Lara was divine with her beautiful long eyelashes and gorgeous skin. She gave us some beautiful happy faces (especially when her daddy was jumping out like a crazy man from behind the trees!) Dads always make me laugh so much – they just have a way to make their kids laugh.

Nothing made her smile like her daddy, but nothing made her happier than snuggling in her mummy’s arms. The ones of Lara in her mums arms are some of my favourites from the day.

It was so great to photograph your beautiful little girl, and I hope you enjoy your preview. What lucky parents you are to be blessed with such a special little person, and vice versa. I will be in touch with your gallery soon!

Anne & Rory – a beautiful winter wedding

Photographing a couple’s wedding is such a priviledge….. but photographing a family members wedding is something in a completely different league. When my sister-in-law, Anne & her fiance, Rory asked me to document their wedding, I was beyond excited and couldn’t wait! I also managed to enlist the photographic abilities of Cassandra Anguita-Deep of caspix photography (seriously awesome Sydney photographer) to join me as second shooter for the day. To check out her blog preview from the day see her website.

After a relatively short engagement, the week of the wedding arrived. We packed up our kids, our clothes and my camera gear and set off to Sydney’s Northern Beaches for what was to be a brilliant weekend.

I fully expected Anne to look stunning as a bride, but when I saw her getting ready, then step out in her wedding dress I found it a little hard to focus through a few teary moments (which I did exceptionally well to cover up of course). The bride, the bridesmaids (also my sister-in-laws, plus another who may as well be) looked incredible. There was just so much happiness and love  floating around.

When we arrived at Long Reef Golf Course, Rory and his man-crew also looked incredibly dapper. I just loved watching Rory’s face as his bride walked down the aisle, and my father-in-laws face as he walked her down (seriously, two of the best moments to capture at a wedding.)

Everything went beautifully, and after the ceremony we headed to the top of Long Reef  to take some more photographs.  The funniest part was hooning up the top of the headland on Golf Carts. God, it makes me laugh so much just thinking about it. Me and Cas were seriously lagging behind the bridal party’s golf carts, so we were madly going pedal to the medal through ditches and hills, camera’s on laps, to get to the top. When we did, woah – what a sight! You can see just how beautiful the view was in the photos below…

The entire day was absolutely stunning, so many perfect little touches and beautiful words spoken. I love seeing the two of you together – so much love, mutual respect, conversation, and companionship. I am so pleased you found each other (although there wasn’t much chance of missing each other when you only lived a few doors apart!).

And now….. hopefully the photos will do the day justice! I hope you enjoy your preview and the remainder of your honeymoon. Oh, and welcome to the family Rory – we love having you in it! xoxo.

A brand new little man – preview

This week I photographed the most amazing little boy, Phoenix and his parents, Jodie and Scott. What a beautiful little family they are. As soon as I saw Phoenix, I instantly felt that he had been on this earth before. There is just something so wise and so special about him.  This little dude was totally relaxed for most of the session, but especially loved being held by his parents. But nothing relaxed him more than laying on his daddy’s chest. Whenever either parent held him, instantly he would go into chill-out mode. Hence, why a lot of the images I took on the day were with his parents! I just love some of the photographs from this session – I have taken so few images of babies with their parents (particularly with their dads) so I really loved being able to do it on this occasion. I am especially loving the baby and daddy shots.

So, guys I hope you enjoy your preview. You two are such fabulous parents, so relaxed and calm – it’s like you’ve done the whole parenting thing plenty of times before! Phoenix is very lucky to have such happy, fun and beautiful parents. I will be in touch soon with your gallery.

Little Chloe

There is something really special about being a photographer. First of all, I love it and I can’t explain how much I love it other than to keep taking more and more pictures…. Pictures of everything. But, you know what I love to photograph the most? People with people. I love a good portrait of a child all by themselves – looking or smiling intently at me, or cruising around doing kiddie things. But nothing is more special than taking pictures of people with their special people. Mums with sons, and dads with daughters, siblings and cousins together – being crazy or being normal or just hanging out. Not standing in a line I assure you, but just interacting and showing how beautiful and every day their love and connection is.

I loved photographing little Miss Chloe with her mummy. I had the pleasure of photographing this gorgeous little thing when she was about 6 weeks old. My oh my, how she has grown! But taking these pictures really reinforced to me how much I love to take pictures of happiness and love, rather than just people.

I love the photographs of the two of you together, Kendal and I hope you do too! Enjoy and I will be in touch super soon with your gallery.
