We didn’t really do anything too special for Australia Day. My lovely husband had most of the day off, and that in itself was pretty special… We just had a cruisy day, and went to visit my husbands sister, her husband and their kids. We also wanted to check out the newest addition to their family again – beautiful little baby boy, Max. Oh, he is just SO adorable. I haven’t held a baby (except to take photos) for such a long time (well, not that long really) and yep, I like it! Of course, I had take some photos of this cute little creature!
Australia Day was a day when I just carted my camera around and took photos of whatever I wanted. I was trying to take ‘Aussie things’ which are so much a part of our lives anyway. I even took a shot of an Australia flag on the clothesline because really, can you get more Aussie than that? I did however, forget to take a shot of my husbands thongs (Australia Flag ones). But you will notice that he is wearing an Australia t.shirt in one of the shots.
There’s also a shot of me in the car side mirrors, and shot of the KFC decision board as we were going through the drive-through ( we got the backyard bucket in case you are wondering, and yes, I know it’s not very Aussie but we didn’t have any snags or lambchops, and my dad is a butcher so I just can’t bring myself to go the Supermarket snags. They are shockers.) And see that sunflower – that is totally real and totally amazing. They really are spectacular things and came out of the garden of a lovely guy who does a bit of work for us and grows fantastic zucchini’s as well.
I need to do that more often (carry my camera everywhere), but quite honestly it can be a task and a half carting around a heavy camera and lens and trying to control a 1 and 3 year old simultaneously…I will work on it though…
Anyway, just a taste of our Australia Day, and of our beautiful blessed little nephew, Max. And little Maxy, you lucky boy – you have the most wonderful parents (and aunty of course).
