Perfect Baby Maddison

I had the pleasure of meeting and photographing Little Maddison on the weekend. Oh, and what a perfect little creature she is! Such delicate features and so, so pretty.

Her parents Kate and Chris seem like they have been there and done it all before, but nope – Maddison is their first little one. They are so relaxed and so in love with their precious little girl. I don’t blame them at all – how could you not adore something so absolutely perfect?

For the first time ever in the history of me guessing the sex of a baby, I was right! A pink one! A pink one for my sister, to add to all the blue.

Meet Marli. Such a beautiful, delicate, lovely little thing. You are melting hearts already little one.

Just a tiny little one

It’s already tomorrow, and I need to get to bed! I’ve got to get up with the sparrows and drive to Sydney airport. Why you ask? Well, I am jet-setting to Surfers Paradise tomorrow morning for a photography workshop. My little Mitch will be accompanying me, as I just can’t bear the thought of him not being in my eyesight for very long. Even Dusty and Beau are excited about the drive to Sydney as they get to watch DVD’s in the car (by the way, DVD players in cars – best invention ever). I am so excited to meet and learn from some incredible US photographers, and am equally excited about hanging out with some of my amazingly talented photography friends. One of which is kiwi, Fiona Andersen and you can read her post about the workshop here .

But before I leave, I wanted to post a little preview for a tiny little man and his parents. This little fella was so teeny. I’ve been used to gigantor babies since Mitch was born, but sweet baby Landon just seemed so small in comparison. He also didn’t have man-boobs like Mitch had as a wee newborn!

Stephen and Jane, I had the loveliest morning with your little family. It was such an absolute pleasure to photograph this treasured, loved little dude of yours. Landon is your first baby, yet you make the whole parenting thing look so easy. I swear you’ve been there and done it all before! Jane, you are so perfect with your little guy. The perfect new mother. You are so relaxed, easy-going and take everything in your stride. Landon probably doesn’t realise it yet, but he is one very lucky little baby. One very LOVED little baby.

So, there’s only a few here but I really wanted to post a few before I leave town for the week.

This little person

You know how you can stare at a camp-fire or a fish tank for hours on end? Just watching. Not speaking. Just taking it all in.

Well, I’ve decided it’s the same with babies. You can literally just stare at them for hours without saying a word. I know I do it with Mitchell – especially during his night feed when the house is in a quiet lull (for once) and he’s not quite asleep, but not quiet awake. He’s usually milk-drunk, and rolls his eyes back is head and lets out little smiles from milk-induced happiness.

How it is even conceivable that we created this little person from nothing? This perfect little person that will one day grow up like our other boys? I just feel so happy that we get to experience what it is like to be a parent. It’s remarkable, it’s all-consuming, and is it truly the most wonderful feeling in the world. And when you see the way your other kids love them, you know you have done something right as a parent. Does this sound sappy? Probably. But you know what? That’s how I feel.

Baby Mitch – you had me at “waaaaaaahhh”.

Well, chances are you haven’t met our newest little man, Mitchell Quinn Stocks, but I assure you – he is well worth meeting. He decided to come into the world on 3 February, 2010. He weighed in at 8″9, and was 51cm. Today he is four weeks old, and he is the sweetest, most adorable baby. Our life feel so rich. We have three beautiful, happy, healthy boys who can grow up together. I envisage them sharing countless hours of lego, backyard cricket, bike riding, mud-pies, sand-pit playing, water-fights and wrestling. It warms my heart to see how much Dusty and Beau love their little brother. They are totally infatuated with him, and love him like he has been around for years.

So… introducing Mitchell. Our newest, littlest man.

(I also appreciate everyone’s patience while I concentrate on my family at this stage. I am on maternity leave and don’t intend to start shooting again until around May. During this time I am still contactable, but I am often unable to get back to people immediately. The best way to contact me during this time is by email through my website or blog. Little Ralph

I had such a fantastic time with this adorable little man, Ralph and his mum during our photo session. I was lucky enough to have met Ralph before I took his photographs as I have known his mummy since high school. This little man is very blessed to have been born into such an incredibly loving and wonderful family. He will be truly loved and treasured. His beautiful mum is such a sweet, nurturing soul – she really is the kind of woman who was born to be a mother. I love seeing the way my sweet friend is with her new little bundle. I know motherhood is such a wonderful thing for her.

A brand new little man – preview

This week I photographed the most amazing little boy, Phoenix and his parents, Jodie and Scott. What a beautiful little family they are. As soon as I saw Phoenix, I instantly felt that he had been on this earth before. There is just something so wise and so special about him. This little dude was totally relaxed for most of the session, but especially loved being held by his parents. But nothing relaxed him more than laying on his daddy’s chest. Whenever either parent held him, instantly he would go into chill-out mode. Hence, why a lot of the images I took on the day were with his parents! I just love some of the photographs from this session – I have taken so few images of babies with their parents (particularly with their dads) so I really loved being able to do it on this occasion. I am especially loving the baby and daddy shots.

So, guys I hope you enjoy your preview. You two are such fabulous parents, so relaxed and calm – it’s like you’ve done the whole parenting thing plenty of times before! Phoenix is very lucky to have such happy, fun and beautiful parents. I will be in touch soon with your gallery.

Ella & Hudson

I have been out of action for the last few weeks as my family and I have just returned from Queensland. We had a whirlwind trip that involved a lot of driving, and a lot of visiting people, (oh, and I mustn’t forget Wiggles World). This was where I met my new niece and nephew, Ella and Hudson, for the very first time. They are the most amazing little ones, and are very loved by their parents Ben and Jane (and everyone else in the family of course! ).

I had the pleasure of photograping them while in Brisbane, while they were 3.5 weeks old. I was lucky enough to shoot them with Lana Bell of Little Posers Photography (a brilliant & amazing Brisbane baby photographer) who was kind enough to allow me to use her studio for the session. It was so fun working together to create these special images, and two sets of hands with twins definitely makes the job easier! The babies were so good – sleepy and settled, which made things so easy.

So, I know there are a lot of people excited to see these photos – enjoy!

Sweet sweet baby

I always look forward to photographing brand new babies, and this session was no exception. This time, I had the pleasure of photographing beautiful baby Poppy (3 weeks) and her gorgeous big sister Charlotte.

Charlotte was such a character – I swear she is a 4 year old in a 2 year olds body. Mum was equally stunning, and was also a serious crack-up! I must also mention that that they have the most amazing home…….

Oh, yes – more itty bitty babies

You know, It’s so interesting to see the way different families welcome their little ones to the world. Every family is different, but there is just such a loving aura floating around! These guys were no different.

Do you remember the stunning pregnant lady I photographed a few months ago? Well, their little one has arrived…. Now, this little girl is one very lucky girl to have been born to such great parents! They are absolutely smitten by her, and Little Miss Audrey Rose has a lot of other big fans too… of that I know! Oh, yes – and I must add that she just happens to have the proudest daddy – and yes, she is THE best baby EVER born! lol.

Anyway, it was great meeting little Miss Audrey, and seeing you guys again. I hope you enjoy your sneek peek and your gallery will be up really soon!
