Autumn is cool (not just in the “brrrrrr, i’m cold”, way).

I have boys. Three of them. Even our pup is a boy.

This family have girls. Three of them. I’m not sure about pets though.

There are so many girly pink vibes floating around this family. In fact,  at times i’m sure Bill (their dad) must want to shut the door and watch some rugby or wrestling or crush a few beer cans with his forehead. I’m totally jealous of their mum, Renae. Not only is she a beautiful,  sweet souled woman BUT she also has an excuse to watch High School Musical and any other secretly desirable tween-flicks with her girls.

So, meet Abbey, Georgia and Tilly. Three beautiful, happy, sweet little girls. The product of wonderful parents! The youngest, Tilly made me work for each and every shot (that’s 2 year old’s for you), but the older girls made it so easy. I hope you enjoy your sneak peek guys. If you ever forget what it’s like to be a kid in a Bathurst Autumn, these images will bring it all back. It’s such cool fun throwing leaves.

As a side-note, I am trying to work my way through client emails, calls, etc, and hope to be on top of it all shortly. Little people just take up so much time!

Darwin drop-ins

It’s been a while since I last did a shoot. Crikey moses… it’s been ages since I took photographs of people that weren’t my own family, but I am ready to start again. Our newest little dude is getting older, and happier – yay. He’s now three months old, and oh lordy – he is a cute little monkey. Anyway, I am slowly starting to take on more work. This session was a great introduction to starting it all again, and from now on the ball will be rolling again.

It’s such a pleasure to photograph any family…..

But it’s just a tad more special than normal when the family lives in Darwin. In fact, it’s pretty damn special. Don’t get too excited though, these groover’s didn’t come all the way down from Darwin just to see me. Instead they decided a trip to Bathurst for family photos would be in order while visiting family in Sydney.

It’s also a little bit more special when the mum is an extremely talented photographer in her own right! She’s also a great friend of mine. She’s the kind of girl I can talk to on the phone for years, blah blah blah blah. Oh yeah, we just crap on and on and on into the wee hours. She’s is also extremely good at what she does. Newborns are her specialty, and she rocks them! You can check out her work here www.daniellestahl.com.au/blog

Here’s a sneak peek for your family lovely Danielle… Even though we had loads and loads of hurdles (miserable cold rainy weather, car-sick kiddies, over-interested animals, a crying newborn, etc) we managed to get some good ones!

Oh, and people… how gorgeous is this location? I must give a special shout-out to Janet & Tim Storrier for allowing us to use their beautiful gardens.  Autumn is such a magical time of the year, but any time of year is beautiful at their place.

Have you met Mitch?

Well, chances are you haven’t met our newest little man, Mitchell Quinn Stocks, but I assure you – he is well worth meeting. He decided to come into the world on 3 February, 2010. He weighed in at 8″9, and was 51cm. Today he is four weeks old, and he is the sweetest, most adorable baby. Our life feel so rich. We have three beautiful, happy, healthy boys who can grow up together. I envisage them sharing countless hours of lego, backyard cricket, bike riding, mud-pies, sand-pit playing, water-fights and wrestling. It warms my heart to see how much Dusty and Beau love their little brother. They are totally infatuated with him, and love him like he has been around for years.

So… introducing Mitchell. Our newest, littlest man.

(I also appreciate everyone’s patience while I concentrate on my family at this stage. I am on maternity leave and don’t intend to start shooting again until around May. During this time I am still contactable, but I am often unable to get back to people immediately. The best way to contact me during this time is by email through my website or blog. I currently have a waiting list for when I commence sessions again. If you would like to book a session with me please send me an email and I will add you to to the wait-list and contact you when I have details of sessions times, etc. Thanks!)

Day 21 – January Photo A Day Challenge

Day 21 of documenting the life of my family over the month of January. Stay tuned for a picture a day of my family just being themselves.

Captured as the boys jumped around on the trampoline this afternoon (or evening).

The story – Not much of a story today as I am feeling rather unmotivated, which is quite unusual for me. Besides, I really need to clean the house now the boys are in bed.. So, this is just what it is – my kids jumping on the trampoline. It’s so hot at the moment. I was feeling so ‘blerk’ from about midday onwards that I probably wouldn’t have even bothered doing my photo a day, except that Dusty suggested we do our “picture for our photo gallery” on the trampoline.

Well… since bouncing is something they really love to do, and since we were already outside, and since they were already jumping on the trampoline – there was only one thing missing.  Motivation (oh, and the camera). I quickly fixed that, and this is the image we managed. I sat underneath the trampoline and told them to jump their little hearts out.
