Where in the world have I been? And some cuteness while i’m at it…

Well, I’ve been here in spirit… I swear I have. I know i’ve been seriously neglecting the blog – even the kids have made little to no appearances of late.

Up until now, I’ve been postponing most photography work until the warmer months. I just wanted to spend some more time with my beautiful little people. Little Mitch is still so little (not physically little) but little in age. I just can’t bring myself to occupy my thoughts and days with things other than my baby and boys. I guess I was a bit ambitious in wanting to get back into things quickly. I just needed some time to BE with my family. I’ve also been watching a lot of MasterChef, which means my backside is parked on the lounge a lot earlier in the night than it has ever been in it’s 29 years of life.

But it’s busy. Kids make you busy. My kids are the most awesome creatures going around, but they are also extremely time consuming, and even if they are not requiring my attention at some stage of the day, I still cannot begin to wrap my head around where things are up to. It is kind of weird having a baby around again after being so used to just going outside or going somewhere whenever we felt like it. I seriously bow my head to those special, wonderful, mother nature types who have a house-full of kiddos and make the job look easy. There are days when being a mother should demand more respect than being a world leader. At least world leaders can think without having a recorder blown in their ear-drum! I can’t say the same!

Anyway, I’m hoping to get back in the swing of things now. I am even toying with the idea of ‘August Photo A Day’. I’ve got a few sessions to blog and here is one little cutie I thought I might add tonight! What a sweet and pretty little thing you are Miss Charlie! xx

My sister is having a baby

She is due TOMORROW! Weeee! I’m trying to hide my excitement, but it’s just bursting out of me. I’m excited. We’re all excited!

On our side of the family, 7 out of 8 kids are boys. Only 1 girl so far. Hmmm. What will the next one be? Stayed tuned peeps! I will let you know when he/she decides to make his/her grand entrance. I think it’s a pink one, but I am always wrong.

In the meantime, enjoy this groovy little storyboard I have put together for the baby’s nursery. Oh, and B & Gav – I can’t wait to meet your fresh little person.

Feeling a little inspired

When you have such beautiful subjects, it’s hard not to be. Just a quick post, for some of the workshop models. I hope you enjoy!  Oh, and keep your eyes peeled for the most gorgeous pregnant chick I’ve possibly ever seen. I just have to dedicate a whole post to her she was just so lovely. xx

About as sweet as you get

One of the BEST parts about being a photographer is meeting new families, and experiencing the dynamics of each and every family. I walk away feeling so happy, smiley and good about life. I feel inspired to be a better mum to my own kids. I feel proud of parents for raising such amazing children (seriously, I really do feel SO proud of them even if  I have just met for the first time). Today was definitely one of those days. These guys were just the bees knees. What  caring, gentle, adorable children Jack, Layla and Jessie are. Where does it come from? Hmmm? It’s really wasn’t hard for me to see where they get it.

We had the most beautiful setting at their grandparents property. What an amazing place to be able to run and play and just BE. You can tell these kids have time to just BE. It’s so important. I really had a blast doing this session. Layla showed me how much she loved the puppies, and Jack flew around the place on his dirt bike while I took some cool shots. Even though it wasn’t really planned, I even managed to sneak mum and dad into a few photos! It’s so important to get your face in a photo or two!! I really hope you guys enjoy your sneak peek and your gallery will be ready really soon. xx

Autumn is cool (not just in the “brrrrrr, i’m cold”, way).

I have boys. Three of them. Even our pup is a boy.

This family have girls. Three of them. I’m not sure about pets though.

There are so many girly pink vibes floating around this family. In fact,  at times i’m sure Bill (their dad) must want to shut the door and watch some rugby or wrestling or crush a few beer cans with his forehead. I’m totally jealous of their mum, Renae. Not only is she a beautiful,  sweet souled woman BUT she also has an excuse to watch High School Musical and any other secretly desirable tween-flicks with her girls.

So, meet Abbey, Georgia and Tilly. Three beautiful, happy, sweet little girls. The product of wonderful parents! The youngest, Tilly made me work for each and every shot (that’s 2 year old’s for you), but the older girls made it so easy. I hope you enjoy your sneak peek guys. If you ever forget what it’s like to be a kid in a Bathurst Autumn, these images will bring it all back. It’s such cool fun throwing leaves.

As a side-note, I am trying to work my way through client emails, calls, etc, and hope to be on top of it all shortly. Little people just take up so much time!
