A nice day for a white wedding

So… as many of you know… I don’t do weddings. Babies & families are my thing….. But….. I just so happened to shoot a wedding recently, and boy – was it beautiful.

Over the last few years, i’ve averaged about one a year, which is about as many weddings as my schedule will allow. But this wedding was kind of special. I have known these girls for many, many years and they hold a dear place in my heart. How could I possibly have said no?

So, Leigh and Stuart were married back in April. It was an amazing day. The preparation was so relaxed, so stress-free, so wonderful. The church ceremony was beautiful, and the reception venue – ‘Athol Garden’s’ was an absolute dream. I’ve never been there before, and it blew my mind (alert – potential brides…. it is a must-see!) The wedding was a perfect example of how tiny details come together to create the most beautiful day. Leigh has exquisite taste, and lashings of her Martha Stewart-like creativity were everywhere. Being a bit of a try-hard Martha myself, I absolutely loved and noticed every single one of them.

The beautiful love that Stuart & Leigh share is so evident when they are together. The tears Leigh shed as she went into the church (and I do believe there were some man-tears involved … but I won’t go into specifics on this occasion). The way they smiled at each other nervously throughout the ceremony, then with relief afterwards, was so sweet to see.

I hope you guys love your photos for ever and ever. Thank you for entrusting me (and my second shooter, Angela Solling) to capture the beauty of your day. Ange was a great super-sleuth, and captured many beautiful moments that I didn’t even know about until I was sifting through the images.
