40 Days of Summer – Day 9

40 Days of Summer is a personal photographic project I do annually, capturing one photograph of my family life every day, for the duration of the project.

Day 9 – Saturday, 31st December 2011 @ 9.05pm

Captured - As we watched the New Years Eve fireworks.

The story –  New Years Eve is different when you are a parent to small children. In fact, the idea of  movie marathon on New Years and a block of Top Deck and a box of Cheezels is the kind of thing that appeals to me. However, this year we spent the night at my mums and dad’s. They have an awesome view of the fireworks from their new house, and the kids were absolutely blown away by what they witnessed. Mitch and his little cousin Marli spent most of the time standing on the esky, clapping in appreciation and saying “Pretty…..” over and over again. The older boys just swapped binoculars from time to time.
